Here at Onlinemoto we supply OEM replacement parts so you as the customer can save money on the genuine parts that are required to be purchased from a dealership.
An OEM replacement part is any part for a vehicle that is not sourced from the vehicles manufacturer, A number of companies make parts designed to function the same, or in some cases even better than the original
Below explains the difference between a genuine original part and our OEM replacement part.
Genuine spare parts
These might be called OE (it stands for Original Equipment) and they are the parts your vehicle was fitted with when it was made. Even if they?re made by another company, they will probably come in an original manufacturer branded box. The downside is, these parts are generally the most expensive.
Replacement parts (OEM)
These are often called OEM parts which stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. The parts have been made by an external company that has supplied the vehicles maker with components for that vehicle at some point. The parts will be identical to Original Equipment parts, but they will come in a box with the name of the company that made it on.
This happens as the manufacturing company such as Bosch, Lucas or Valeo will have negotiated to sell the parts independently as part of its contract. These are likely to be cheaper than OE parts and you may be able to use them without invalidating the vehicles warranty. This makes OEM parts more suitable and ideal for a vehicle that are four years or older. OEM really come into there element when the parts for your vehicle are no longer manufactured from their original manufacturer.
